In the southeastern corner of the Algarve, Companhia das Culturas stands side-by-side with the village of São Bartolomeu and the Castro Marim Nature Reserve. It comprises 40 hectares of stone pines, cork oaks and carob trees, apricots and figs, olive oil and a vegetable garden kept according to organic farming methods. The cluster of buildings, which originally serviced the rain-fed orchard, are a restoration project by architect Pedro Ressano Garcia conceived for accommodation and workshops on arts, architecture, design, gastronomy, yoga and dance.
